Miss Izzi's birthday!!

Miss Izzi had a birthday at the beginning of December,  just a few days after we got back from Bundaberg where Dad had his knee replacement done.

Mum didn't get there in time to help with the cake. Our Jen had to do it all by herself and what a great job she did.  Miss Izzi wanted a Panda birthday.  Mum has bought a heap of those little German Schleich animals for the kids over the years and luckily we had a panda and a baby panda. A good start for the Panda birthday. Our Jen used them on the cake. How good does it look??  She was real worried about Mum not being there. She didn't need to worry, aye??

She wanted gymnastic outfits for her birthday. How cute is this one.

We did get to go to the party but we didn't stay long as poor old Dad was in a bit of agony. We probably shouldn't have gone at all but Izzi loves her PopPop so much that he didn't want to disappoint her. Don't tell anyone but Izzi is Dad's favourite Grandkid and I've got to say they do seem to have something very special going on between them.  It was a good day and Izzi had a great day. She's 5. Off to school this year.  Crikey ..... they grow up real quick, aye??

I'm lucky to be alive!!!!!

Crikey ..... am I ever lucky to be alive. We went to MY beach as usual the other evening. Mum and Dad have been taking a couple of chairs, a beer for Dad and a thermos of tea for Mum and we have a grand old time. Mum and I go for a big walk and when we head back and are about half a kilometre or so from Dad I run to him at a million miles an hour. I have a bit of a rest then but if I see any of my mates I head off for a play whilst Mum and Dad watch from their comfy chairs. BUT ...  here's what happened the other night. We were just sitting there minding our own business when Dad spotted a dog a ways, away up the beach. He pointed him out to Mum and commented on how fast he appeared to be and said he must be a greyhound or something. Now I see a greyhound and I'm off like a rocket. I just seem to know we are somehow related. Anyway I spotted this bloke and I was off. Did I EVER bite off more than I could chew. I can normally hold my own with greyhounds. They're fast but I'm FIT and I can run like the wind. This bloke  took me completely by surprise. He was HUMUNGOUS and FAST!!  Boy was he FAST!!  I ran back to Mum and Dad as fast as I could and he was right there with me.  There was no way I could shake him. I ducked and weaved and he was there. Right by my side. OMD!!!  I was getting awful tired. Not him. I wasn't game to stop running I thought he'd EAT me.  Everyone on the beach stopped to watch the show we were putting on. Mum and Dad were yelling at me to stop but I was too scared. I just kept on going. Finally the owner of the dog realised I wasn't having much fun and managed to call the BIG bloke off.  Fair dinkum ... I was beat. I fell in a heap at Mum and Dad's feet and I thought Id never, ever get up, ever again!! I have to say the other bloke wasn't much better off. He also fell in a heap at his Dad's feet and he took even longer to recover than I did. The dogs owner was a real nice bloke and so, as it turned out, was the dog, but how was I to know. He was what's known as a Bull Arab. They use 'em in far north Queensland to hunt feral pigs cause they are so tough and can chase and pull down a pig without any worries.  I'm glad this one knew the difference between a feral pig and ME, aye??  Crikey he was BIG.  He would have been 45 klgs or more and he was built like a tank. I'd be hard pushed to be 18klgs. They are a cross breed. 50% English Bull terrier (for toughness), 25% greyhound (for speed) and 25% German Shorthaired Pointer (for temperament). He did manage to knock me almost off my feet whilst we were running and although I was alright that night the next day I pulled up real bad.  I could hardly walk.  We had a VERY quiet day at home yesterday. No exercise for me.  I was still limping this morning so Mum took me for a short walk and I'm going to have another quiet day today.  I'll be ready to go again by tomorrow I'd say. Mum didn't take any photos but here's what they look like.  This is almost identical to the bloke we saw.  Fair dinkum ..... I'm lucky to be alive!!

Blog in a book??

Mum would like to know if any of you blokes out there have made their blog into a book. She knows it can be done and has googled it but she's not very smart and hasn't been game to attempt it.  Is it simple?  Is it VERY simple??  It sure needs to be  for Mum to attempt it. OR .... can you pay someone to do it for you? Remembering we are downunder of course. And is that VERY expensive???  Well I think that's all she asked me to ask you so I'll leave you with a photo of me just because I can. I sure would like a book of MY blog. Mum hasn't even saved it so if Blogger goes bust so does MY blog and I've worked my poor little brain into a frenzy to put it all together. I sure hope someone out there can help.

What do YOU reckon??  Heaven ..... right???

Oh and for all of you who were worried about Mum and the fall she had. She's OK!!  She's a tough old bird.  Complained a bit last night about a sore ankle but that's all. We went for a big long walk on the beach last night so it can't be too bad.

I got to go!!

I got to go to main beach ... for brekky!!

I didn't even look at it. Not worth looking at if you ask me!!
I didn't get a bread roll but I got some cheese.
I wasn't allowed to swim but I got to watch the peeps. I wasn't impressed.  It didn't look like Paradise to me.  I'd been to my beach earlier. That was Paradise.

THIS is Paradise!
Mum fell over.  Serves her right.  She didn't hurt herself but it was quite spectacular and her phone took some great photos during the fall.

She fell heavily on the leg she broke 3 years ago. The part that was broken was exactly the part she fell on. Lucky she was on the sand, aye??  She'll probably be complaining tonight and I'm here to tell you she won't get any sympathy from me.
Main Beach ..... the tourists can have it for my money. Paradise??????  Hmmmmmmmph!!

Paradise ..... what the heck!!!

What's going on??  It was a beautiful day yesterday. We went to my beach in the morning as usual.  I had a great time.  So far so good.  Then Jen and the girls came to my house.  I was ecstatic!!  I love Jen and the girls.  THEN .... Mum and Jen and the girls went and left me at home with Dad.  They went to main beach ...... what's with that??  Only tourists go to main beach. It's the BEST beach. Dogs aren't allowed!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Mum NEVER goes to main beach.  They swam for hours. Mum said it was like being in paradise.  How could it be paradise without ME??  What's more she said she and Dad were going to go swimming there more often. You know what that means don't you??  I'd have to stay home ...... ALONE!!  I've been such a good lately.  I've been very understanding and if Mum and Dad need to go out without me I've been staying in my crate and I haven't eaten my bed for months now. I might just have to start eating my bed again, aye??  Paradise ...... what the heck!!!
