How brave is my Mum and Dad????

Crikey is this brave or what?????  Mum and Dad went to the zoo in Canberra and they patted a Cheetah.  It was a few years ago now but my best feline friend, forever, Madi told us all about the Cheetah in her endangered series post and I said I would show her the photos of Mum and Dad patting a cheetah so here they are. Mum was dead scared.  The zoo keeper told them not to pat below their neck as they LOVED having their head and ears played with but HATED WITH A PASSION being touched elsewhere. So Dad, who's not good at listening or following rules, was patting away and, as he usually does, kept getting over enthused and his hand was getting lower and lower down the cheetah's back.  Mum thought that cheetah was going to freak out and give Dad what for but thank goodness he didn't seem to mind and just lay there like a good.  Pretty neat, aye??
Mum was worried about the one right under the trees. He was wide awake and kept flicking his tail .
Crikey they're beautiful.
I wonder if they can run as fast as me?????

Wanna run ..... Love, Charlie.

hey didn't get to pat it but they did see it. I have pictures of that too. Looks like I might have to do a post for you. AND Lightning and Misty did tigers. Mum and Dad fed some tigers at Dubbo Zoo. I'll try and find those photos too. They were behind wire for that one though.

    1. Crickey Andrew ... I wasn't there but it was a zoo. I know they didn't shoot 'em. Mum hates guns. Mum said all but one of them was snoozing but even they were tail flicking and she said they purr just like domestic cats.

  13. Wow. Wow. Wow. My mom got all excited about petting a baby zebra but that's not scary or brave like your Mum and dad. Those kitties are huge and beautiful. But I think that would be one race that you might lose.

Charlie we cannot in our wildest dreams imagine the thrill! What a once in a lifetime honor to be cherished, they are indeed majestic and AWESOME creatures! (The use of awesome should be reserved for things like this. MOL I am am very cheetah like when it comes to rubbing. We felines can get overstimulated easily. Mom says you have to watch my ears for early signs.
Matey Thank you for posting these beautiful photos.

  28. We have some cheetahs here in a natural environment zoo, but um...no way are any pees other than zoo keepers allowed to get near them. Actually we have a whole zoo dedicated to a naturla environment. the critters who live there seem to thrive, and some have young ones too. In winter the 'tropical' critters are housed inside, but not on view, its closed then...only a seasonal zoo for us. Well, its open for brief periods for events and then the animals that like cold weather are out and can be seen, like lynx, wolves and several others.

Those are furtastic pictures of your brave peeps, Charlie!
