There was no snow on my beach today. It disappeared overnight. Magic, aye?? It got Mum thinking about water temperatures so she checked a few out. The water temperature at my beach today is 26.6 degrees
CELCIUS! That's about 80F I think. Like a warm bath, aye?? Mum doesn't know the names of beaches in the States but she found one in Maine called Wells Beach. The temperature there was 5.5 degrees
CELCIUS. Crikey .... does anyone swim in
THAT?????? Californian beaches were about 17C. That's not too bad, aye?? Good enough to paddle in. She checked Volendam in Holland. 6.7 degrees
CELCIUS. Struth!! Brighton in the UK ... 8.3 degrees
CELCIUS. Positively balmy, aye?? Hey Mr JF Sir ...... what is the temp of Lake Mitch Again today?? Do you know??
It's a bit cooler here today. Its 26C degrees at the moment. Crikey ..... the same as the water almost. It's only supposed to get to 30C today. What's it like at your house?
We went to the duck ponds with the little girls on Sunday. Here's some photos.
|
Whatcha got in the bucket Jo?? |
|
'Fishies and tadpoles ..... I'm off to get some more' |
|
Quite a haul, aye?? Can our Jo catch fish or what?? |
|
They let them go before we went home!! |
|
The duck ponds were overflowing from all the rain. |
|
A bit of scooter fun!! |
|
Miss G's got herself all camouflaged, aye?? |
|
There were NO ducks. They were all under the trees. There's not usually water there so I guess there's lots of insects and good stuff for them to eat. |
|
I had fun!!!! |
Wanna run ..... Love, Charlie.
We have been to Wells Beach but we aren't swimming there. It's cold even when it's warm

DeleteOMD! That is some warm water Charlie!!! That 17c musta been in Souther California, cause our beaches up here near San Francisco are MUCH colder than that! Even in the summer, you have to put on a wet suit if you wanna surf for any amount of time! Crazy, huh? Anyhu, your shrunken peeps look like they had one FABulous day at the ponds!! When Ma was a wee lass, she used to go tadpole catchin' too! It was lots of funs, and a great way to spend the day. Your shrunken peeps are gettin mighty adorables!!!!
ReplyDeleteHopes you had a great day swimmin' Charlie!!!
Stay warm ☺
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
It was Santa Monica pier temps Ruby ..... Mum's got no idea where that is but it was the first one that came up when she looked at San Fransisco.
DeleteCrikey ...... I didn't know you had to wear wet suits in summer. We don't even need those in winter here. Further south you do but not here. Our water temp in winter is about 22C.
The girls had a great time and so did I. They are as cute as buttons, aye?? They spent hours catching those fish and taddies. It was a good day.
Your beach looks wonderful! Nice and warm! But the beaches in Maine are under about 6 feet of snow!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
MURPHY AND STANLEY
Crikey ..... so it DOES snow on the beach?? Who knew????? I would love to see photos of THAT. *Mum ........ can you google Maine winter images for me*!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
Crikey ...... that's cold, aye? Glad I'm not at your place.
DeleteHey, Charlie, you look like a duck in that last one!
ReplyDeleteThe FIRST time SHE ever got in the ocean it was in Maine.....summer, and it was freezing! The water has to be VERY warm here, for her to venture in.
Yeah ...... Mum thinks it's too cold at 26C. Weird, aye??
DeleteLooks like super fun mate..when we went away the water was 29C?? like a hot bath hahahah..and the pools were the same..not real cooling ..looks like you all had super fun! i may go hop in the pool it's 26C in there now :) loves Fozziemum xxx

DeleteI cannot believe that you had snow on your beach, and then it was SO warm the next day. Wow!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you all had lots of fun at the pond. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos!
That's the way it goes here I guess.. It was great at the duck ponds!!
DeleteAm I the only human who talks to you, all your comments are from dogs.
ReplyDeleteYou sure know how to have a good time.
Merle...........
It's ok Merle ...... I've got a few human friends. I like you a lot. Aunty talks to me too. She's a human. You know her. She's VERY weird but I love her.
DeleteThat is one cool pond!!! Sorry the ducks were hiding!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
It's pretty nice, aye?? Once the water goes down the ducks will be back I guess.
DeleteHari OM
ReplyDelete(Better let Merle know she has company - and she and I know each other too!)
as to water temps. Try 2'c. That's what it is here at the mo...... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Oh ...... I've taken care of that. Mmmmmmmmmm!! Maybe you'd better not read what I said.
Delete2C ...... OMD ..... I don't think I'd be swimming there, aye?? Love ya LOTS Aunty!!! Truly!! I was just jokin' with Merle ...... HONEST!!!!!!!
Um..it was-7F here this morning...and Lake Mitchagain is mostly frozen over...Brrr! Think ICE.
ReplyDeleteZaidie's lake/beach/park will be much the same...don't wanna be anywhere's near them BOL! Only if skates and ear muffs are provided.
Your beach looks so inviting! But since I do not care fur getting my tootsies wet, you may enjoy it with your gals:)) And look at you swimming!!
I've been looking at photos of your lake and Zaidie's. Crikey ...... I sure wouldn't be swimming there. I used to hate getting my tootsies wet too but I love it now. When it's hot you've gotta cool down somehow.
DeleteIt are a nice 74F on my side of da house, I don't care too much bout da outside since I'm not out there. Dat's da dogs' problem.
ReplyDeleteCRIKEY Travis ... 74F ... Pretty good, aye? You got the life ...

ReplyDeleteCRIKEY Whitley Travis is happy. Best stay on the inside with him, aye?
DeletePacking my bag and flying over right now. Have a terrific Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wises Molly green with envy
CRIKEY ... I'm excited Molly. Want me to pick you up at the airport?
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWow - your snow sure did leave in a hurry, Charlie! We have minus 10 at our house right now and our snow isn't going anywhere soon.
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Minus 10? I can't even begin to imagine what that is like. Stay warm, aye?
ReplyDeleteHere in Denmark where I live it is + 4 degrees C. Luckily have have + 24 C in the house. Mom is always so cold :) We want your hot water and you weather LOL.
ReplyDeleteCrikey Laika ...... my Mum would die if she had to live at your place. She's cold even when it's hot. Spring won't be long for you now, aye?? Surely it will warm up for you soon. I sure hope so. We look forward to our winters. Our winters are probably like your summers. It's the best time of year here.
DeleteOh boy... we have +2 °C.. I only can dream about your temperatures :o) oh your Miss G. has the same stripes as you Charlie, you can go as twins now :o)
ReplyDeleteeasy rider
Crikey Easy .... keep dreamin', mate. Spring is surely on it's way for you, aye?? It won't be long and you'll be warm again.
DeleteMiss G. has got my stripes. Maybe that's what she was trying to do when she attacked herself with that texta. She wanted to look like me. Well ... who wouldn't????????
that does look like you had fun splashing in the water
ReplyDeleteIt was a good day Reilly and Denny. Good weather, the little peeps and ME. What more could anyone ask for?????
DeleteWhy Charlie I would say your beach is like a hot tub add a little humidity and you might have a hot tub sauna combo. Today I am negative 6 Fahrenheit which I think would be -21.1111111 Celsius which translated means I am freezing my bum off and my river is freezing over.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend
Sweet William The Scot
We have the humidity too Sweet William. Most days here in summer are very hot and very humid. It is a bit like a sauna all the time. -21C??????? CRIKEY ...... does it REALLY get that cold??? Surely that can't be good for you. You'd NEVER get me outside in those temperatures. Do you really go outside???? I'm not worried about your river freezing but fair dinkum William ..... your bummy, mate ...... not to mention those other private areas ....... a saying the Torres Strait Islanders have for entering a gate where there are stinging grub things on it ...... 'quick in ..... quick out'. the same goes for you, aye, mate? Only it's quick out ....... quick in!!
DeleteLooks like a fun day! We still have snow.
ReplyDeleteCrikey ...... Are you over it yet?? You sure seem to have a lot of fun in your snow though. I did have a fun day with the little girls.
DeleteWhen I came down at 6AM for my morning cup of coffee it was 3 F (or about negative 16 C). 3 sounds bad enough, but in celsius it sounds down right hideous!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a very cold winter this year! I am ready for it to end!
Crikey ..... no wonder you are wanting it to end. -16C sounds ghastly to me. I couldn't even imagine going outside in that. Surely spring will arrive soon for you. I sure hope so.
DeleteWell I like swimming in the cold river, so I think your lake is too warm, BOL! What a shocker for you to get snow!
ReplyDeleteIt was a shock to the system alright, Buddy. It sure confused me. Do you really swim in that river of yours?? Crikey ... how brave are you???
DeleteYou sure look like you have a fun house over there
ReplyDeleteSnorts,
Lily & Edward
There's always plenty of action. Sometimes I just need to relax.
DeleteDear Charlie,
ReplyDeleteI am a snow expert, and I did not think that was snow... but that does seem to be how fast it disappears around our part of the world too, so perhaps I was wrong?
Nature sure does make crazy things!
Our Beach has water that is about 6 degrees celcius. It is best to play in our the water when the sun is warm!
Perhaps you could send us some of your warm beach water? Next time it snows I will send some to you. How's that for a deal?
Licks,
Cobi
Crikey Cobi ..... 6C sounds awful cold to me. Don't you get much snow where you are?? I thought all of Canada was freezing in the winter. Where abouts do you live in Canada. Mum was there in 1990 but it wasn't winter and she still saw snow. She reckons it's a very beautiful country.
Deletesounds like a good deal to me. My warm water for your snow. Do you think the postman will be able to manage that???? Or maybe Zaidie will do it for us in his lear jet, aye??
Our beach and lake is so frozen over they drive snowmobiles and trucks on it. We are 40 degrees colder than you.
ReplyDelete40 degrees colder than me. Crikey ...... it's a wonder you're not DEAD!!!!!
DeleteThat would be enough to kill my Mum. She complains if it goes below 20C. I know you come from Canada but which part?? I wish everyone would put their town on their blogs. I am ALWAYS so curious as to where everyone comes from.
Those little girls and you charlie seem like you're having a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteWe had a great day thankyou, Hazel!!
DeleteBahahahaha - what did she use to mark herself up? Kids crack me up!
ReplyDeleteCharlie, you have the most remarkable coloring - I really love it! That looks like so much fun to splash around like that - a little jealous. We are so dry here. We may get some little puddles this weekend though!
Her Mum said it was an eyebrow pencil whatever that is. Guess she likes her eyebrows all over the place, aye??
DeleteThankyou Blueberry. I was just born with this colour. A bit like your spots I guess. A lot of people say I look like a white tiger but I'm not fierce like a tiger. Sure hope you get some rain. We've had bucket loads of the stuff recently after a very long dry spell.
I am glad you had fun!!
ReplyDeleteLove Sasha
We did, thankyou, Sasha. It was a great day.
DeleteHow can it be? Where did the snow go?
ReplyDeletelove
tweedles
I don't know Tweedles. It's a mystery!
ReplyDeleteG'day - the following is available at my page in response to your question... I see you don't have an email contact here so pasting it in this box - please let mum know that I can be reached via the contacts box on the Wild YAM page of my blog so as to be sure we are fully connected!
ReplyDeleteHari Om
No worries Charlie mate - the page will be here when mum's got the time.
As to blog save - that is very easy. Go into the blog's setup pages where you see the list on the left of things like 'posts', 'comments', 'layout' and so on. At the bottom you will see 'settings'.
Click that.
Now click the 'other' at the bottom of the settings list. At the top of that page you will see links for import/export/delete. Click export.
A box will come up with the 'download' instruction. It will go into your dowloads folder where you can the place it where you like for storage.
What the help (eerrrr.. Mum) may not be aware of is that EVERY picture uploaded to blogger gets stored in the cloud on picasa. So once in the ether, always in the ether.... this is why it is advisable to 'watermark' all photographs. In theory they are secure to you, but as we know, lots of things turn up on Google images which I am fairly sure the copyright owners didn't want there!!!
Be aware that what this export function exports only photographs and written content - it also holds onto comments made on the posts. It DOES NOT save the format of the blog page. If for any reason your page was compromised it would be necessary to set it up again and then IMPORT the saved items.
Which brings up the need, if you are going to take this action, of saving regularly (once a week, say), so that the most you would lose in the event of a crash of the page is max 7 days.
This brings up the need to back computer systems on a similar time scale. If a pc or tablet crashes, and you haven't backed up to an external storage device..... no sympathy here.... (she can be a hard woman at times, the old aunty...) Yxx
Hope that helped!!!
OMP! That looks like so much fun in the water. I would definitely pounce in with you my friend and take a dunk. Wouldn't that be a snort of a good time? XOXO - Bacon
ReplyDeleteIt sure would Bacon ..... You'll be pleased to know that I'm getting on a lot better with Miss Poppy PooPoo pants these days. We now tolerate each other and I did have a swim with her in the kids pool the other day. She's a lot of fun but a bit of a bossy boots. I'm a bit scared of her but don't tell any of my mates that, aye. They'll think I'm a Wuss.
ReplyDeleteSnortin' right back at ya, mate xoxoxo
