Mum's big blunder!!

Crikey ...... My Mum's a bit of a drongo sometimes.  Here's what happened the other day.
We were heading off for a bit of a walk around the block and when we opened the door there was a little white fluffy pup in our yard. When she saw us she raced over and jumped all over us. Now I wasn't too impressed.  I thought I was going to be stuck with her like I'm stuck with Herbie but thank goodness that didn't happen.   Mum took one look at the little ball of fluff and immediately picked it up and called it by name, Flossie!!  After she scolded it for running away from home and crossing roads etc. etc. etc. we continued on our walk with Flossie in tow. We came to a house that Mum knew was Flossie's house. The owners weren't home so Mum put Flossie in the yard and secured the gate and left her there thinking she had done her good deed for the day. We then continued on with our walk before finally heading home.
Later that afternoon there was a knock on the door and when Mum answered it she was surprised to find a distressed young girl asking her if she had seen a little white puppy wandering around. Yep you guessed it.  The dog Mum put in Flossie's yard wasn't Flossie but a Flossie look alike. Off she and the young girl went and when they got to Flossie's house there were two little white fluffies having a great time together and one very puzzled looking Flossie owner. She had just returned from her outing and was very surprised to find another dog in her yard. Too funny, aye?  It could only happen to MY Mum!!

Well she didn't take any pics of the LWF's so here's one of me wearing my collar I got for Christmas.  Pretty swish, aye??

Wanna run ..... Love, Charlie.

  1. Ah, but your Mum meant well, Charlie, and took care of the little pup to make sure it didn't come to any harm. Sounds like the real Flossie and the pup had a whale of a time together, so that's good isn't it?
That's one very smart collar - and you look very handsome. Is it the family tartan?

    1. No it's not the family tartan as far as I know. There is a LOT of Scot in Mum's family though. The old family name is Andrew. That's pretty Scottish, aye??

  5. Your mum is a bit ditzy, Charlie, but she meant well and everyone was happy in the end. Some close scrutiny of your collar tells me you are not of my family line.

  6. is that a story!!! I love it!!!! and I'm glad not-flossie is back with her furmily :o) such a thing happened to a fb-friend too. there were 3 labs on the street and someone opened the gate of that friend and brought the 3 pups in her garden. that friend was scared to death as her own dog entered her office in a wild stampede followed by 3 other dogs...

  9. Oh Charlie old mate, do have a bit of sympathy for your poor mum. We know her eyes are not perfect and these little white fluffy things do rather look all the same, don't they? And humans don't have our advantages in the sense of smell department either.

  18. Well, it's the thought that counts, and everything turned out all right! Good thing your Mom tried to keep Flossie's twin safe. Who knows what would have happened to the little fuzz ball otherwise.

  33. Oh Charlie being that Flossie was a little white fluffy pup perhaps this quote works ~
I think pups are as individual as snowflakes, they kind a look alike but no two are the exactly the same. Glad you Mom can recognize you.
