Miss Izzi's Birthday!!

Miss Izzi had a birthday at the beginning of December,  just a few days after we got back from Bundaberg where Dad had his knee replacement done.

Mum didn't get there in time to help with the cake. Our Jen had to do it all by herself and what a great job she did.  Miss Izzi wanted a Panda birthday.  Mum has bought a heap of those little German Schleich animals for the kids over the years and luckily we had a panda and a baby panda. A good start for the Panda birthday. Our Jen used them on the cake. How good does it look??  She was real worried about Mum not being there. She didn't need to worry, aye??

She wanted gymnastic outfits for her birthday.  How good does this one look??

We did get to go to the party but we didn't stay long as poor old Dad was in a bit of agony. We probably shouldn't have gone at all but Izzi loves her PopPop so much that he didn't want to disappoint her. Don't tell anyone but Izzi is Dad's favourite Grandkid and I've got to say they do seem to have something very special going on between them.  It was a good day and Izzi had a great day. She's 5. Off to school this year.  Crikey ..... they grow up real quick, aye??

Wanna run .... love, Charlie.

  1. Sorry your Dad couldn't be more of a partier, Lady's mom had both knees replaced so we know about the pain of that. Izzi is super cute!

  7. I'm not really into kids since we never had any around ever but boy is that Izzy a cutie. I would let her pet me for sure. And that cake is amazing. My Mom used to make neat cakes but she gave that up when her hands started to hurt. Happy birthday Miss Izzy.

    What a lovely cake!!

Growlmy has a Panda from her college years...his name is 'Pinda' which is Dutch for Peanut! BOL!

I hope your Dad is doing a lot better by now...grwlmy says she sees a lot of those bandage covered knees where she works...and most of the peeps go home and do really well in a few weeks, they then do not need crutches or anything, and they no longer have all the pain from their old bum knees...POTP to your Dad...good thing it wasn't he who fell on the beach, OMD!!

    1. Dad is doing real good. He threw the crutches away as soon as he left the hospital and has worked really hard on an exercise bike and treadmill. He's walking really well but still in a lot of pain. It takes a long time for that to disappear apparently. But then ... He is a man.

  12. That's a MAGNIFICIENT cake! SHE won't make anything that takes longer to decorate than to eat. We're hopin' you got a doggy bag....at least some ice cream. We also hope that your Dad makes a speedy recovery. We've heard that replaced knees are very painful at first!
