Mum and Dad had a big row this morning. I don't know why ...... I don't think they know why, either. Probably cause they were tired. Crikey it was funny though. You see ...... I get really upset if Mum and Dad have harsh words with one another and I slink off and try and find somewhere to hide. They were yelling at one another about nothing, I might add, when Mum saw me slowly sidle off the lounge chair I had been sitting on and start to head for the door. She quickly stopped yelling at Dad and came and cuddled me and told Dad to be quiet because I was so upset. Dad came over and cuddled me too and then we all had a big threesome cuddle and the big row was over. Am I a peacemaker or what???
Our Lucy (WFT) used to jump on Dad and bite him. She was Mummy's girl. I don't know how that stopped the yelling but apparently it did.
Just as well Mum and Dad have always had dogs, aye?? If it weren't for us they might just have kept on rowing and yelling at one another forever. Mum reckons it's always been the dogs of the family that keep the peace.
We did some interesting stuff in Sydney. I'll tell you all about it soon but right now........ it's beach time ...... yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!
Wanna run ...... Love, Charlie.
I bark a lot - I don't like anyone bein louder dan me. And I has growled at momma's sister when she used to fight wif my momma - dat don't really happen too much anymore, since dey don't really get into da real physical screamy fights like they used to when they wuz teenagers. Momma's sister has changed to mutterin and weird looks at my momma, which don't bother me too much like the yellin and hittin would. Now when she yells, she just goes off to her room to do it and I don't really care.
ReplyDeleteCrikey Whitley ... Those teenagers get a bit feisty, aye? My Jen punched her big sister in the nose when they were teenagers and almost broke it. Mum was beside herself with those two for a while there.
DeleteWelcome home Charlie. Hope you get to the beck very soon
ReplyDeleteAs I live with just the one person, we don't have rows in this household so my peacemaker skills are as yet untested.
Love the bonus piccie of Lucy.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
What would they do without you?? I am glad everyone is home safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
It always feels wonderful to be back in your own nest. SHE usually rows with us...no one else around to annoy HER. But we just ignore the bad words.
ReplyDeleteHOOOORAY!!! You must be sooo pleased to be backs in your den! I gets terribly homesick afters less than a week away from my base! Boy, your peacemaking powers are something to behold Charlie - whats a gift you haves.
ReplyDeleteYour Enid xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I am glad to be back Enid BUT ...... Frankie and Ernie told me you posted today and it's disappeared. I can't see you!!!! OMD I'm devo. I've been so busy while we were away and I didn't ask you to the dance. I am such a slack boyfriend. Luckily I think Sarge has it all under control for us. I sure hope so. Now that I'm home for a while things might get back to normal but you never know around here.
DeleteCrikey Enid ...... I've missed you so ....... Your Charlie xxxxxxxxxxxxx
We are slinkers like you - we run and hide although I must admit I have never heard Mom and Dad have a fight. The only time dad gets angry is during football - he rants and raves at the tv and that scares us.
ReplyDeleteYour Mom and Dad never fight? Crikey ... Can I come and live at your house? I LOVE your new beach too.
DeleteNaww.... SIlly peeps. Glad they sorted it all out.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're home safe and sound Charlie
ReplyDeleteI finks us pups are pawfect peacemakers, great works there Charlie!
Loves and licky kisses

ReplyDeleteWell done Charlie - using the guilt card on our peeps is a prime way to end wars!!! I am sure it was exactly as you said; it must have been an exhausting time and now they are back on home territory as well and can let go of the stuff that's been building. That's hyoomans fur ya.... Enjoy that beach - it's 6 degrees and p**ing down outside my window. Summer time.......... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
It's 6 degrees and SUMMER? Crikey ... Glad I don't live at your house!
DeleteOh you had a WFT too? I like the way she acted... our WFT tried to bite all combattants, probably she was the perfect democrat LOL. I always start to bark, because it makes me nervous when they have a row and I try to be lauder than my momma the banshee and my dad the hulk :o)
ReplyDeleteeasy rider
Must be something about those WFT's, aye? Our Lucy was a feisty little thing. Mum is still getting over losing her. She was a great dog. Quite the character. Your Mom's a banshee and your Dads a hulk....... Too funny Easy.
DeleteI join in and help...more noise is so much more fun...when they can't hear it anyways...BOL, Just kidding...but I do bark and maybe try to get inbetween the rival 2 leggers...OMD!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are home...Home Sweet Peaceful Home!
No go have fun at the beach! Wash all your troubles away.....
Welcome home we missed you. Sounds like you're a great peacemaker
ReplyDeleteWags

We're so happy to see you are home and doing your job as peacemaker. We're really lucky because our Mom and Dad don't have any rows. Dad refuses to raise his voice and Mom is pretty easy going most of the time. We would probably just ignore them anyhow. Have soooo much fun at the beach.
ReplyDeleteScooter and Skittlez
Both my guys get sad eyes and go to their most private sleeping spots. They want no part of our spats! Years ago, when I was a kid, we had a German Shepherd. He always picked my mother's side and came to her defense! That quickly cooled things off :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you Charlie! We missed you!
ReplyDeleteGhostwriter never yells at anyone about anything. But Dad, who is hard of hearing and sometimes doesn't realize how loud he is, likes to yell at the TV. We doggies run and hide behind ghostwriter when that happens.
CRIKEY Charlie.... have you seen that your ENID posted today....????
ReplyDeleteOMD you are a PEACEMAKER fur SURE....
Crikey Frankie and Ernie ..... I can't find it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's in my list but there's goblins or something in it. Why me ...... please blogspot ..... I'm dying here ...... what did she say???? .... did she mention ME????? OMD this is tooo terrible. Eeeeeeeeeenid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteWe are sure many relationships are saved because a doggie has distracted the combatants!
ReplyDeleteYour pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Welcome home Charlie!!! You sound like a great marriage counselor!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
We bark if mom and dad yells at each other :)
ReplyDeleteWhen momma yells my eyes get ginormous
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Glad you are home Charlie and that you kept the fight from getting out of hand.
ReplyDeleteOur mom and Dad sometimes have disagreements but they don't yell at each other. we just might freak out if they did
hugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel
It is just me and Mara at home. And that silly orange bear but he doesn't count. Mara does talk to herself sometimes especially when she did something silly! But she never fights with herself.
ReplyDeleteCharlie, we think it is wonderful that you are a peacemaker - maybe they need to send you to some of those bad countries where they are killing everyone and see if your powers work there.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
Hi Charlie, glad you are back again and you are a great peacemaker. I hate when yelling people to each other.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Snarf
Whew...so glad your home....we gotta know what going on down there for crikey sakes......Yep we don't like that stuff either we all leave that room till they notice we are gone, then it''s over...Peeps Hey!
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
How cool that your mom and dad had Terriers! See, we learned something new today☺ Molly tries to patch up any tempers that get started around here and I'm just quiet. I knew it'll all blow over soon enough.
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
We don't like it when our pawrents fight either. You did a good job to stop them.
ReplyDeleteCharlie you are back! and yes we missed you :) sometimes the peeps fight it;s a peeps thing :) but hey you are the united nations and got the peace talks underway so bravo! loves Fozziemum xxx
ReplyDeleteCharlie we are late commenting cos mom had to work all week and make monies cos hers says our dad is lazy and she is going to look on farmers.com and find a new man.....can you tell we had fights at our house last night also, we just ignore them so they go on for hours, we should start crying or something apparently to stop them....stella rose
ReplyDeleteHey Charlie!
ReplyDeleteWow, welcome back and I'm glad you are the peep peacemaker! BOL
BTW: I don't have a pix of your Enid yet for the dance. Do you have one to send me, or should I steal one from her bloggie? lfurman1987ATyahooDOTcom
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, Police Commish
You look like a pawsome peacemaker, Charlie!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are home safe and sound!
Hey again!
ReplyDeleteI have a photo of you and your Enid all ready for the dance. Well, my Mom lost your email addy! She's fired from her job now. BOL Could you send me an email and I'll send your photo back to you?

OMD! Charlie, I GOTS to tell you a story..go gets a margarita, cause it's a loooong one, butts it's worth it!
ReplyDeleteOkays, when Ma was a wee lass, her brother was being..well, a BOY and their Mom started yellin' at him sayin' 'Bloody this' and 'Bloddy that' (Gma was Irish ya know..☺), and her brother, being the smart ass that he was, said, "why is everything so BLOODY??" Wells, that made Gma REALLY mad that she slapped him on his ass! BOL!! Then, our WFT Kelly, jumped up and BIT Gma right in her hinnie!!!! BOL!!!!! Yuppers! Guess what? Ma and her brother started rolling on the floor laughin' and Kelly was barkin' and laughin' too!
Gma stopped yellin' at Ma's brother though...hehehehe And got an ice pack for her bum!
Ahhhh, good times....
Anyhu, Me...I just tend to ignore it all...Ma likes yellin' at the TV when the idiot politicians come on..I'm used to it...☺
Maybe I should bite her on the hinnie??? Nah, she's the one who knows where the treaties are....
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Welcome back!! OMD, maybe you should head up the Blogville Peace Corp or UN or something!
ReplyDeleteWally & Sammy
Hi hi hi! Ojo here! First of all, thank you for noticing my tongue! It is indeed very good for licking ice cream, and all sorts of other things! Second, I am sorry to hear you are in Beach withdrawal, and I hope you get to go soon! Third, thank you for pointing to my story about my Very Big Beach! And fourth, good job being a peacemaker! I think you've definitely earned ice cream and a Beach trip!
ReplyDeleteIt is good there are not five things because I only have four paws...
Welcome home!
Well I have got the beach trip in Ojo but NO ice cream. Thanks for suggesting it. Mum reads my blog. She might give me ice cream tomorrow. You do have a tail Ojo! You could always use that for counting.
DeleteCharlie the PeaceKeeper. A fitting title. There's no place like home. :)
ReplyDeleteHidey Ho Charlie!! Glad you are all home safely
ReplyDeleteI put my peeps in time out if they speak above .5 decibel then I make them kiss and hug and shake hands!
I have delicate ears
Hugs madi your bfff
Oh Charley - you are definitely a peacemaker!
