They're OUT!!!!!!

They're OUT!!!  Crikey .... was that ever an ordeal.  If anyone ever comes at me with one of those staple gun things ever again I'm going to bite a chunk out of THEM!! They didn't even work.  They did NOTHING!!!!!!   I've still got a hole in me AND the VET said I've still got to be kept quiet.  Hmmmmmmmph!!  I took no notice of that.  I've still gotta wear that collar thing too and I've got more of those HUMUNGOUS Antibiotic pills to take.  Fair dinkum ..... those GSD's sure did a job on me, aye??  Mum took me for a walk in the park the day after they came out. She felt sorry for me so thought a big walk would do me the world of good. Well I saw a pigeon on the ground and all of a sudden I was like one of those bucking bronco blokes. I backed out of my collar and I was off. I almost got that pigeon bloke but when he took off so did I. I ran and ran around that park like I've never ran before. Mum was yelling like Easy's Mum, the banshee, but I couldn't hear her. I had the wind in my hair and I was running like there were no tomorrows. Crikey it felt good!!  I did a few laps of the park before heading back to Mum who immediately put that collar and lead on me.  Don't know why??  I'd had my run. I wasn't going anywhere.  I didn't burst open.  I'm still all together.  What was she and the Vet so worried about?  Ok ..... so I've got a bit of a hole and I'm going to have a bit of a scar. So what?  My insides are still in. That's all that really matters, aye??  Mum is still keeping the collar on me. I s'pose that's for the best.  I am a big licker and I don't think its such a good idea to lick the hole but she has relented a bit on the running.  She is going to let me have a few small runs each day.  Oh the joy!!!!!!!!  Small runs ........ better than no runs, aye??
We've been going to see Nan each day.  She always has a big smile for me but she's not at all well.  Mum is so sad after we have been there.  She feels so helpless.  She just wants to make it all better for her but there's nothing she can do really. Nan is not eating and looks so very frail.  The only thing she likes to eat is .......... you're not going to believe this ........... the only thing she likes to eat is ......... ICECREAM!!!    What a sensible lady!!!!!! I love Nan.  We always have a big cuddle.

Well things are slowly getting back to normal.  Although I do have another problem.  Since I haven't been running my toenails are out of control. They are so long.  Mum got the cutter things out today but I'm going to make it awful hard for her. I'm always impossible ... but fair dinkum ......I'm going to be doubly impossible for her today.   I've been through enough lately without having to put up with THAT too, aye??

S'pose they are a bit out of control.

Looking a bit better, aye??  But hey ..... it's itchy. I'd sure like to be able to get at it.

Wanna run ........ Love, Charlie.

Pees ........ My Enid's going to France for a holiday. How lucky is she??????????????????

I'm staying well clear of ALL GSD's Finley and Mum's paranoid about other dogs coming near me now. Even little ones. I did get to play with a Westie today. Crikey you blokes are a bit touchy until you get to know us, aye?? This little bloke was all agro at me for a while but then we were the best of mates and had fun together.

  5. Great new that those horrid staples are out and your insides are still in!
Gail tells me that when Human Granny was in hospital earlier this year, for about two weeks she would only eat ice-cream. We say give her lots! Gail also says she understands about the feeling sad and helpless bit.
    Enjoy those runs Charlie!

    1. It seems icecream is a big favourite with older folks, aye?? AND ME!!!!!! It's about all we can get Nan to eat so she is having as much as we can get into her. We know you and Gail understand how we are feeling. You are in exactly the same boat. We too have to travel to see our Nan. We just wish she could come home with us but it would be too much for her and it would also be hard for Mum to look after her. I guess we just have to do what we can when we can. I do my bit with cuddles. Bet you do too.

  11. Charlie... bless your little heart. You are correct those GSD did a number ON YOU. There is any extra skin or much furs so they got down to the skin quickly. It does look better. NO RUNNING YOUNG MAN!!
I do not like mani-pedis either. I proud to say it takes both of my peeps to do it too. It is the actual cutting of the nails it is the fact that Dad has to hold me like a baby while Mom does the deed. I not a lap cat so I'm not found of being held. MOL MOL

We are so sorry about your precious Grandma. Mom surely knows the helpless feeling your mom has. She went through the same with her mom in 2014. Mom said my Gma kept saying she was weary.

    1. Crikey Madi ..... you too??? It's the pits, aye?? Even if Dad holds me down I still pull my foot away when Mum goes to clip. She reckons she'll clip my whole foot off one day. Not if I pull it away in time!!
My Nan doesn't want to be here anymore Madi. Like your Gma she keeps saying she's weary too. It's just sooooooooo sad and there's nothing we can do except be here when we can. Nan lives 1000klms from us and Mum doesn't like flying so it is a bit difficult. We are trying to spend as much time with her as we can but we have to go home sometimes..

I can't wait to hear all about your trip to France. Crikey .... that's so exciting for you all. Have the BEST time but keep away from any black, french dogs you may meet. I hear those French blokes are hard to resist.

  16. We're so glad you're feeling better.

Sorry about Nan, though. Ghostwriter works with people like Nan at the nursing home. Sometimes they just stop eating and fade away. Don't worry. As painful as it is to watch, it is not painful to the person. In fact sometimes they get to a point when eating is too much of a burden, and systems slowly start to shut down. This is a natural process. Ghostwriter says she's also seen people live for years just on ice cream and milkshakes! You keep visiting, Charlie. Doggies are excellent therapists!

    1. Crikey Chester and Joey. Thank the ghostwriter for us. Mum had kinda figured all that out but it's good to know that Nan is just doing what is natural. She says she doesn't feel ill just tired and a bit frustrated too we think. She just wants to go to sleep and not wake up.It's awful hard to watch though. She was always such a vibrant person. What will be will be I guess. She does love seeing me as do all the ladies. I ALWAYS make them smile and the nurses tell Mum they don't smile much at anything else. Nan likes seeing me more than she likes seeing Mum these days. Poor Mum ..... she does feel so useless.

Now ice cream!!!! - that's something we can sink our teeth into - we all LOVE ice cream. Poor Nan - can't be very easy on Mom. Please give her lots of sloppy kisses from us.
