Before we headed off to Sydney the little girls came over to see how I was. They were
VERY worried about me. While they were outside munching on iceblocks we had a few visitors. The little girls wanted to feed 'em. Crikey ...... what
BIG beaks they had?? Mum didn't know what to feed them but knew they liked fish. The only fish we had in the house was
MY sardines so Mum gave them those.
MY sardines. Hmmmmmmph!! They
LOVED it. Who knew pelicans would eat sardines out of a tin??
The little girls had a lot of fun!! So did I ...
|
No Miss G ..... they don't want your iceblock!! |
|
I'll get rid of 'em for you!! |
|
Hmmmmmph!! They locked ME inside!!! What's with that???? |
|
Whooee ........ good catch!! BUT how could you miss with a gob that big?? |
|
This bloke thought he was going to miss out. He didn't!! |
|
No Miss G. I told you they don't like iceblocks. |
|
Weird lookin', aye?? |
|
Well they didn't laugh like that for too long. I got let out and I told them a thing or two. Eating MY sardines. The hide of 'em!! |
Wanna run ...... Love, Charlie.
What???!!! They locked you inside??! Oh Charlie, what is with all the incarceration??! I mean, did the peeps really thinks you would have jumped in the water after those freaky-beaked burdies??! Okays, maybe they had a point...I would have! BOL
ReplyDeleteButts, YOUR SARDINES??!! The nerves!!!! Oh, will the injustices ever end??! CAKE FOR CHARLIE!!!!! That's gonna be the new Blogville protest yell...yuppers!
Wells, I hopes you're feelin' better Charlie, and you and the gurls had a most FABulous time!!
Sendin' LOTS of POTP and healin' vibes your way!!!!
Oh, and margaritas of course....☺
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Yep Ruby .... that's exactly what they thought and I would've too.. They weren't worried about the pelicans just MY STITCHES!!!!!! I'm doin' fine now, thanks Ruby ..... almost back to normal. I had my first BIG run this morning. I chased a greyhound. I couldn't catch him but we had a lot of fun together.
DeleteCrikey ..... you sure know how to make a margarita don't you??
Wow, what pretty girls. You attract all the pretty girls. Sardines. We don't know about that. Glad to see you are healing nicely.
ReplyDeleteThey're very cute little ones, aye?? I'm almost better today thanks. Mum reckons I'm pretty much back to normal.
DeleteUt-oh! Now those goofy lookin burds are gonna be movin in. To eat Yur sardines!
ReplyDeleteThat is jus' not rite.
We gots those kinda burds round here, but 'cept they are all mostly white. They look real purdy flyin. They catch the air currents an fly in lazy circles, all in a bunch.
But I shur know better than to feed 'em.
Mum and I love watching 'em fly Zoe. They're so big in the sky, aye? Mum reckons they're the jumbo jets of the bird world but they're ever so graceful up there.
DeleteThey sure liked those sardines and you're right. The next morning there were 4 of them hanging around our jetty. I've hidden all my sardines.
I wonder what dose birds taste like . . .
ReplyDeleteCrikey Travis ..... you're incorrigible!!
DeleteLockin ya inside and givin away your foods?? What da woof???
ReplyDeleteWhat da woof indeed Whitley. What da woof!!
DeleteWould you and your "Sorry Ass" like to move in with us? We would let you have ALL the sardines! Poor Charlie is having a rough go of it lately.
ReplyDeleteCrikey ..... I sure would like that ..... especially if I can bring my Sorry Ass with me. I don't like going anywhere without him.
DeleteDon't starve, Charlie!
ReplyDeleteSo now you need a bucket of sardines as a payment for letting those (cute and clumsy) pelicans gobble your stash.
And a gallon or more of ice cream to make up fur the birthday pawrty fiasco.
And why on earth would you need to be crated/locked away?
Wait, I have heard something bout how you chase varmints...and maybe that is why I too can't be outside of my yard except om a leash...
So just bark em good!!
Woofs!
Well Mr JF Sir ..... it was because Mum reckoned I'd jump in after MY sardines and I would have too. She didn't want me to get my stitches wet. Hmmmmmmmph!!!!!!!
DeleteHari OM
ReplyDeleteOh Pinky and Perky PellyKanned came to visit? You oughta know, Charlie mate, that this is a great honour.... though perhaps sacrifice of sardines was perhaps stretching it a bit..... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
It was stretching it a bit far alright, Aunty. My sardines .... fair dinkum!!!!!
DeleteWow Charlie you saw real pelicans in the furs!!!!! That's incredible.
ReplyDeleteButts, whats this business about locking you in eh? Don't they nose those very cute little girlies need their GUARD dog to save them frum those VERY large pointed beaks...I mean, I bet they even haf teefs and thingys in those!
Loves and licky kisses
Princess Leah xxx
You're right Princess. Those little girls were in such great danger without me there to protect them. Those pelican blokes don't worry too much about what goes into their gigantic gobs and those little girls have no fear.
DeleteThe little girls look so pretty feeding those piggy pelicans. The nerve of them eating your sardines, Cjharlie!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
The little girls had a great time. I didn't!!!!!! Well ...... when they finished feeding them I did get let out and I did bark at 'em and they flew away. That was pretty neat.
DeleteYour sardines?? What a nerve! Did they at least ask you???
ReplyDeleteThe only birds with big beaks we have around here are curlews. But they just eat insects I think! They are only here for the summer and they have a really strange call. Oh, and their beaks are curved!! How weird is that?
Nope they didn't ask. Just took MY sardines, locked me inside and off they went. What a nerve indeed!!!!!!
DeleteGave away your sardines!
ReplyDeleteThat would be like giving away Mum's chocolates.
Crikey .... your'e dead right. I've tried to get at Mum's chocolates and you should see the performance. She turns into a maniac!! Yelling and screaming at me .......
Deleteyou know you don't see many white and black pelicans here - most of them are brown !
ReplyDeleteCrikey ..... I've never seen a brown pelican. I thought they only came in black and white.
DeleteWe can't believe your Mum gave them YOUR sardines!!! We love those fishies in the little tin. We are sure that your Mum rushed right out to the store to get you lots more. The little girls look so pretty there. And oh yes, those pelicans sure DO have BIG beaks.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
You're right. she went to the shop the next day and stocked up. Hopefully for ME and not those pesky pelicans.
DeleteSure glad we don't have to share our food with any of those strange looking things. Doxie's are not very good about sharing any kind of food. Boy you sure spend a lot of time in lock up. Mom wouldn't dare lock me up - I really can bark.
ReplyDeleteScooter
Crikey Scooter ..... wish I barked more. You barking blokes seem to get away with murder.
DeleteWe think you should have been able to swim with those big birdies or at least had some treats!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
I should've been able to Murphy and Stanley but I wasn't. I live a hard life, aye??
DeleteWow! We loved seeing those pelican dudes! I would have jumped in the water with them! Did you get to lick the oil out of the sardine can?
ReplyDeleteNope ..... no oil .... Mum thinks I'll cut my tongue on the tin. It's tough being me!!!!
DeleteYou get em charlie! Crying shame they got to eat your sardines, but I am sure your Mum will get you more ;)
ReplyDeleteShe did ..... the next day ..... just as well or I would've disowned her.
DeleteYOUR sardines??!!! Don't like that idea. The pelicans at the Dubbo Zoo like chips.....
ReplyDeleteWe always bark at the pelicans at the river.
Chips, aye?? Crikey ... who knew?? Mum had no idea what to feed 'em. She thought they only ate fish. She was surprised when they ate MY sardines.
DeleteDey ate yer chow?? and locked ya inside??? Dat's just not right, not right at all... why, it are an injustice is whut it is!! One dat could only be remedied wiff lotsa ice cream!!
ReplyDeleteAnd y'all calls 'em iceblocks?? We calls 'em popsicles here...
And I's wonderin' if Travis ain't onto somethin... dey might be purdy tasty... maybe we should slip another burd on da barbie!
DeleteIt's real tough being me Whitley. I suffer lots of injustices. I like that you call iceblocks popsicles. It's a much nicer word, aye???
DeleteI think they'd be mighty tough Finley. Don't know why? They just kinda look tough, aye??
DeleteI am flabbergasted! Your mum gave YOUR sardines to a pair of birds? Hrumph. I hope she buys you more sardines! :)
ReplyDeleteShe did buy me more. Just as well, aye???
DeleteWow...those look like that big beaked guy from Finding Nemo!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
One and the same Dory ..... one and the same!! Hey ..... you don't look like Dory from Finding Nemo!! Why'd they call you that??????
DeleteWe trust replacement sardines FOR YOU have been purchased...?
ReplyDeleteWHOA! Those are some huge beaks!! Reminds me of those birdies in Finding Nemo... :)
ReplyDeleteCharlie my matey I think a rumble with those fowls would foul up your recovery...step away from the dock
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff
Holy moly they do have big beaks! I have never seen a pelican up close so appreciate this perspective!
ReplyDeleteHoly Puppies, those sure are some big beaks!! I have never seen anything like that in all my four months.
